News anchor burns and shreds Paris story

Saturday, June 30, 2007

For those who missed this hilarious (and quite understandable) mini-freakout:

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski refuses to talk about Paris Hilton as a *Lead Story* on the Morning Joe show.

Faux Bathroom

Our friends are adding a second story to their house. When we were over last weekend for game night, Scott was telling us about what was planned. He said there would be a gameroom, a full bathroom... I thought he had said "faux bathroom."

Being a home decorating junkie, I was intrigued! I asked about the faux bathroom. Oh man. That followed me around all night. Eventually there were comments about the "hibachi toilet" and similar features of the faux bathroom. Too funny.

By the by... I can't believe Joel Siegel died. He looked so good when he was on GMA recently. I know he had a poor prognosis, but he just looked so great I thought they'd had some kind of miracle or something. His reviews were so witty and entertaining.

I am here, just not much to talk about! Let's see...

My foot still hurts, just when I'm sitting.

Paris is out, and making a fool of herself as usual.

The head of the WWE made the surprising declaration that there is no such thing as 'roid rage. The term was invented by people who have experienced it. I loved when Meredith Viera kept quoting him in her interview, and he kept having to sidestep her. What's his angle, anyway?

I don't need an iPhone for $600. Add on the expensive monthly rates ($60+), and it's only for those who will love it and use it all the time.

I would like a talking GPS in my car though. Are there ones with guy voices?

Laid up

Well... it turns out I did break my toe three weeks ago. Now I've developed fasciitis in my foot from walking on it funny all this time. So I have to wear shoes with support (no flip flops!) and rest it and ice it for a few days. Boooring.

I'm reading The Book Thief, watching TV and web surfing.

Maybe I'll go Google myself.

Webmistress-speak follows. Most of you will want to get out while you can.

Well, I guess I have to give this book its due! I used Search Engine Optimization: An Hour a Day by Jennifer Grappone and Gradiva Couzin to optimize my newest website. Ten days after lots of research and what was actually just a tad of tweaking, I have gone from #27 in Google for my site's most important and relevant keywords, to #7! That is the difference between someone finding you and never knowing you exist on the web.

Coolio! I bow to Jennifer and Gradiva, the masters of SEO.

Speaking of Google.... They may be... coming to Austin!!

Ooh! Crate and Barrel 2!

Lookie what I found. In the all-too-familiar category of "Am I the last to know?" posts, here is the link to Crate and Barrel 2 (a.k.a. CB2). It's a more contemporary spin than their standard store inventory. Two brick-and-mortar stores in Chicago and one coming soon in NYC.

In particular, I love this glass mobile. View the things hanging in a room (pic #2). So cute!!

Got milk?

The one good thing about my fridge freezing everything is that when the milk is pretty full, it doesn't freeze, but it is VERY cold. Ice cold, I'd say. It is so good. So grab a cookie and have some icy milk at my place, because tomorrow the new fridge is coming!
