Spartacus

Cathy got an iPhone! And the big data plan, too! I think Julie is literally the only person I know now who doesn't have a Droid or iPhone. She isn't interested in them, so that doesn't even count.
:)
Jeff and I have been watching the Starz Spartacus: Blood and Sand series on DVD. (That's the first season.) Andy Whitfield is a small guy to be playing Spartacus, but once they cut off all that hair and beard, I must say he is pretty cute. Cute doesn't help one kick the arses of countless ginormous neanderthals though. It must be the power of love that makes the little guy a killing machine.
I have learned during the show that ancient Romans and other peoples of the region did not wear undergarments. (I remarked, "They're all naked under their clothes!" Yeah.) With all the sex going on, underwear would just get in the way. There's already been one scene where I wanted to rewind to figure out exactly what Ilithyia was doing to Crixus. Very educational.
On the down side, some of the acting isn't that great. And anytime someone is hit with something, about two buckets of blood fly out of them. Still, I keep watching. It actually makes me wish there were a really good series made about that era, revolving around something other than gladiators.
