Chef

We were perusing the movies at the theater yesterday and Jeff noticed one called Chef. Neither of us had heard of it at all, but it has an all-star cast and an interesting story. So we sort of shrugged and said we'd check it out.

We were very pleased we did!! It's SO good!



It's funny and charming and just a great story. And I loved Scarlett Johansson's bangs. (Just saying.) A chef feels he's had to compromise his creativity in his job at a restaurant, so he ends up getting a food truck. They cross the country in the truck, stopping in New Orleans and Austin (YEAH) along the way. He's had a strained relationship with his 10-year-old son, who ends up coming with him for the adventure.

It's John Favreau, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Scarlett Johansson, Sofia Vergara, Dustin Hoffman and Robert Downey, Jr.  And Emjay Anthony, who plays the chef's social-media-savvy son, is fantastic.

Stay until the very end of the credits. There's a little behind-the-scenes scene. 

Go see it! You'll laugh, you'll cry. It's simply a great summer movie.
