Ahhh Surgery

I'm just giddy at the thought of general anesthesia... again. Ever since my surgery a year-and-a-half ago, there has been a tiny piece of granulation tissue, unhealed tissue that is stuck in a phase of the healing process and will never heal, at the site of my internal stitches. The unhealed tissue isn't painful or dangerous, but it is highly annoying when it bleeds ever so slightly every now and then. I can't take it anymore, so it's gone tomorrow! Woohoo!!
My favorite part of pre-op was asking my doctor if I could have heavy sedation instead of a general, and she said, "Most people like to be asleep during this type of surgery." I said, "Oh I WANT TO BE ASLEEP." The thought of retractors and clamps and chainsaws all up in there makes me wanna run for the hills. I was just under the impression that for short surgeries, one could have heavy sedation to the point of being asleep. The nurse said if you do that, sometimes you will wake up if something particularly painful occurs. Um, NO THANKS.
They both told me that I should talk to the anesthesiologist in the morning. I will take his face in my hands and look him square in the eyes and say, "Please. Put. Me. Out."
