Red Wine and Chocolate

Got your attention, eh? The LQ theme last night was chocolate and red wine. I actually cozied up with a Spec's brand of pinot noir, which is called by a number that I can't recall at the moment. Yummo. Very smooth. We had all these expensive chocolate bar pieces in all sorts of interesting varieties. Cindy brought her favorite chocolate, Reese's peanut butter cups. lol. My favorite candy as well, truth be told, but I can tell you it does not mix well with pinot. Dark chocolate is definitely the way to go there.

Huge guard competition yesterday. This is the first one where they separated out the novice guards. (Lauren's guard is only in its second year.) They got 2nd of five in the novice division, after a ringer team. Some Dallas area parents (a very experienced bunch we were chatting with) were the ones who told us the other guard was obviously not a novice group, and shouldn't have been placed in that division. That team's show was really awesome, but yeah... definitely not a lot of newbies in there.

Our guard scored 10 points higher than the 3rd place team (that's a lot), and only 4 points behind the misplaced guard. They also re-choreographed the entire show over the past two weeks. They were really great. Can't wait until next week!
