"...Shake the Glitter Off Your Clothes Now"

Two of my high school friends, who reconnected at our 25th class reunion (no drama- they were both single at the time), got engaged yesterday. Awwwwww! That's a LOT of couples for the Class of '85 at CCHS, I think. So cute!!

Saturday 9: Waking Up in Vegas

1) As she sings about her night in Las Vegas, Katy wonders if she "got hitched last night dressed up like Elvis." Tell us about the last wedding you attended.
Last year, we went to Joshua and Brittany's wedding. It was outdoors, in the country at sunset. Beautiful!

2) Whenever Crazy Sam visits Las Vegas, she stays at the Paris Hotel and Casino. Have you ever been to Las Vegas, Nevada? What about Paris, France?
Las Vegas- twice. Once with girlfriends and once with my aunt and her BFF.
Paris, France- nope. The only reason I have any desire to see Paris at all is to put a padlock on the Pont des Arts. My dad did it with Ursula, and told me Jeff and I should do it as well. You put a padlock on the bridge and toss the key into the Seine. Then the only way your love can be broken is to find the key and unlock the lock. I just love that. :)

3) Do you enjoy gambling? Have you had any success at it?
I don't enjoy gambling at all. Statistics have the player always losing, so why do it? I've gambled a teensy bit in Vegas and on cruise ships, with the complete expectation that I would lose every dime I wagered (which I did, except for one time with Jeff on his first cruise), but it's not really my thing.

4) Las Vegas is served by the RTC Bus Service and the Vegas Monorail System connects many of casinos on The Strip. When was the last time you rode a bus or a train?
at the last Show of Homes

5) It's not unusual for the mercury to hit 100ยบ in Vegas in August. Which are you more comfortable in -- extreme heat or bone-chilling cold?
Ack. I guess in cold, you can snuggle with a friend or run around to get warmer, while in heat there's not much you can do to cool off, but either is miserable.

6) As a little girl, Katy Perry sang nothing but gospel. Do you remember any church songs from your childhood?
I think most church songs I remember are actually from CCE. (Catholics represent!) "Michael Row the Boat Ashore," "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands..." The songs I remember most from my childhood are radio songs and songs from my mom's albums, which she played all the time- mostly Tom Jones, along with Engelbert Humperdinck, Beach Boys, ABBA, The Eagles...

7) She made her film debut as the voice of Smurfette in The Smurfs (2011). Who is your all-time favorite cartoon character?
Bugs Bunny! So funny. So sarcastic.

8) Do you consider yourself a picky eater?

Nope, but I live with two picky eaters.

9) You receive an invitation to a party that starts at 7:00 PM. When will you arrive?
7:05. Yeah, I'm that girl. I wanna help if you need something done, and I don't want anyone to think I'm not coming.
