Robots in disguise! Transformers was as it usually is- very thrilling and cool. I didn't know it was going to be 3 hours long, but I didn't notice until we came out of the theater, so that's a good thing. The element of the Transformers films that always grips me is how well the sheer enormousness of the Autobots and Decepticons is portrayed. Those things look pretty real, and a few times, like during the scene where the building is falling over, I was actually scared. Sure, it's great CGI, but I think the more important part of the illusion is the heavy, lumbering metal-on-metal sound of a Decepticon heading straight for you.
Good movie. One more comment- the pairing of Shia LaBeouf and the girls in those films requires far more suspension of disbelief than the idea of space robots morphing into automobiles.
Have a great Monday, y'all!
