Sadness

A long-time school friend of Lauren's, who happened to sit next to her last year in computer science, died in a diving accident over the weekend. Of course the kids are all reeling from it. It is so touching to see all the poems, songs, etc. his classmates are writing for him on Facebook. They've also posted hundreds of messages to him on his page. Almost everyone's status has something to do with him. What a gift to his family, to be able to see all those heartfelt messages.

Via Facebook, the kids have organized a "wear red" day in memory of him on the first day of school. Sweet.
