Austin Parade of Homes 2009
Tuesday, May 26, 2009
This year's Parade of Homes is very very cool. Usually the decor is traditional with some transitional tossed in. This time it's all contemporary. There are a lot of neat lighting options, including light emanating from behind a 1-inch-wide strip of plastic, flush with the wall.
There are fireplaces with the crystals instead of wood, which I love. I'm not a fan of stained concrete floors, but one house has painted concrete, which looked fantastic. One house has a second-floor outdoor seating area with grass. There are neato water features everywhere, and awesome master bathroom showers and tubs. I also found a perfect tile for our bathroom remodel.
My favorite house is the first one (4229 Camacho). The layout is amazing. The decor is beautiful. It has the coolest sun room. The kitchen, dining room and living room are all one room. So open! Gorgeous!!
Bonus- you get to park on one of the old Mueller Airport runways to catch the tram to the entrance.
